post Prototype vs. inFamous

I’m not very far in Prototype yet, but already I’m questioning whether or not I want to finish it. At first it feels very empowering to have a character that can traverse on any surface, at any incline, at a high rate of speed. Then you are suddenly faced with a challenge inside an enclosed environment and immediately the deficiencies of what previously felt empowering, suddenly feel clumsy and frustrating. Quickly running from one ammo depot to another, only to accidently run up the wall, or grab a soldier instead of the weapon you need to pick up, is absolutely curse inducing.

Perhaps it’s the fact that I’m simultaneously playing inFamous. inFamous excels at tying its verticality and traversal freedom to its combat challenges. It has a very symbiotic relationship between exploration, combat and challenges, resulting in a gameplay loop that is far more satisfying to me.

post Please ignore the mess.
